Fantastic entry level role to kick start your career in CAD design! Previous work experience is not essential but you must be familiar with 3D CAD systems together with the ability to interpret and produce technical drawings.

Our client, based in Andover has a great opportunity to join their team on a 12 month fixed term contract. They are a market leading manufacturing company and are simply a superb company to work for, with lots of benefits including 25 days holiday and a profit related pay bonus. You will need to have a high level of concentration, speed, accuracy and problem solving skills as well as team working skills to take a customer order from survey to manufacture and installation.

Job Role:

  • Correctly interpret customer surveys, drawings and documents from customer requirements and specifications to provide thoroughly considered and 100% accurate bespoke solutions
  • Accurately convert digital and manual surveys into 3D drawings in order to design accurate products that avoid aborted installations and remakes
  • Liaising with sales advisors, distributors, order entry, manufacturing and installation departments
  • Responsible for accurately judging when to make a compromise on a design, considers and weigh up options in a timely manner so as to make the best decision for the customer
  • Ensuring compliance within UK and overseas manufacturing and regulatory limitations by adhering to, and applying, design rules relevant to each country
  • In time, and after full training, you’ll be completing full site surveys both in the UK and abroad

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrates proven experience working effectively within tight time constraints
  • Previous work experience is not essential, as consideration will be given to individuals who have recently qualified from further education
  • Experience of 3D CAD systems is essential; ideally in SolidWorks
  • Some experience of AutoCAD is desirable
  • Capable of interpreting customer surveys
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workloads in a pressurised environment
  • Knowledge of KBM systems and eDrawing is desirable
  • Excellent computer skills for MS Word, Excel and Lotus notes
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Excellent attention to detail with a capability to produce accurate work
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply new information
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with empathy
  • Sound decision making ability and judgement
  • Calm and effective under pressure

  • Salary approx £23,000. Made up of £20,345 basic + 15% shift allowance
