Strong candidates now have a choice of offers to choose from, which means businesses are having to look carefully at the packages of pay and benefits they offer to attract and retain the best talent.
To help our clients make sure they measure up against competitive offers, we have once again conducted our survey into the salaries and benefits being offered by a wide range of companies within 30 miles of Basingstoke.
Our 2017 Salary & Benefits Survey has been compiled using our own records of positions placed during 2016, plus data gathered about salaries offered in vacancies advertised locally on major job boards. We gathered data on benefits by looking at the packages offered in vacancies that we filled and by interviewing business owners and managers.
The survey looks at the permanent salary ranges for over 50 popular job titles within key areas such as:
- Business Support
- Customer Service
- HR & Training
- Supply Chain, Procurement & Logistics
- Finance & Accounting
- Warehouse, Distribution & Logistics
- Production & Manufacturing
- Electronics & Engineering
We know from experience that agile companies that can quickly put together an appealing salary and benefits package can often steal a march on those that are slower to finalise the details of an offer. By referencing our survey, businesses can be confident that they are making a compelling and competitive offer.
Priority Appointments’ Business Director Tracy Welch explained, “Apart from a competitive salary, attractive benefits continue to be a strong influencing factor in candidates’ decisions. Whilst our research clearly shows that as a rule, the bigger the company, the better the benefits, incentives such as a couple of days’ extra annual leave or the opportunity for flexible working are highly valued by good candidates, and are something that smaller businesses could consider to help them attract the best talent.”
Our qualitative research is designed to help employers gain insight into what they need to budget for in order to attract the best candidates and how they should be rewarding the staff that they wish to retain.
