Commercial Manager with FMCG/Retail knowledge, permanent role in Andover 30- 40k + commission + bonus + 25 days hol + car or car allowance + private healthcare

Exciting opportunity to join a highly successful company in Andover to manage and develop a portfolio of agency brands and exceed the budgeted gross budget.

As the Commercial Manager you will:

• Manage and develop the business across a portfolio of agency brands
• Formulate the Company Marketing Plan for a portfolio of brands and ensure that it is implemented on time, to budget and delivers the set results
• Ensure that agency principals have full input into the marketing plan and that joint objectives are agreed and achieved
• Recommend the most appropriate brand strategies, then implement once agreed, to include ranging, pricing and margin
• Manage the Advertising and Promotion spend on each of the brands within agreed budgets
• Liaise with Demand Planners on forecast exceptions and any product supply issues
• Develop brand/category presentations to effectively communicate brand propositions
• Present to the salesforce and to customers where appropriate, major marketing activity/brand plans
• Ensure sound relationships are maintained with all agency principals and that quarterly reviews are conducted outlining issues and actions required to ensure the company deliver against expectations
• Work closely with Logistics to ensure a smooth transition of all goods into and dispatched from the business
• Attend exhibitions to promote those brands

To succeed as the Commercial Manager you will have:

• ‘Hands on’ experience as a Brand manager within an FMCG setting
• A background in Marketing
• Good planning, analytical and organisation skills
• A confident, assertive and resilient attitude
• High numeracy and be computer literate
• Creative problem solving skills
• Commercial awareness key to achieving budgeted results

This role is fundamental to developing the company and strengthening it's management team. There is a significant direct and indirect spend, so they are seeking an experienced and proven procurement professional to take on full responsibility for the function and team, plus contribute as a senior manager across the whole business. The role will directly report into the Managing Director and is based in Andover.

As the Procurement Manager you will:

• Review, negotiate and manage Long Term Agreements for all critical long lead-time raw materials sourced globally to ensure continuity of supply and suitable UK stock levels to support changing demand
• Lead a comprehensive review of all direct and indirect spend and develop an action plan to reduce costs, maintain / improve delivery and quality, plus maintain excellent service levels from the supply chain
• Assess the whole team in procurement, materials and stock control. Specify clear roles and responsibilities and manage their performance
• Develop a functional structure that can support the growth of the business
• Be active in the supply chain to build relationships, manage performance, assess capabilities and capacity, conduct audits and other key activities
• Review current processes, controls and governance of all procurement and stock control activities
• Review the approval process for all expenditure and ensure compliance
• Develop a culture of “doing deals” and delivering best value
• Maintain and optimise raw and finished good stocks, including accurate cycle counts and support year-end audit
• Take ownership of standard costs and ensure that the system is 100% accurate
• Develop a procurement strategy that ensures that a capable and sufficient supply chain is in place to support the planned growth
• Lead supplier management and performance
• Work closely with finance to ensure all spend needs and controls are in place
• Take ownership of daily issues, resolving appropriately using personal judgement and initiative
• Lead and own all key supplier relationships and build strong professional relationships
• Ensure best value procurement with proper purchase order placement and terms and conditions in place to support all procurement activities
• Review and negotiate fair or ideally improved payment terms
• Ensure that mandatory import and export requirements are understood and the necessary is done in order to meet the appropriate company, national and international obligations
• Be prepared to challenge everything in terms of the role remit and contribute as a senior manager across the whole company

To succeed as the Procurement Manager you will have:

• Comprehensive procurement experience gained from working within technical ideally manufacturing SME companies serving different industries
• Proven and strong man management skills and leadership
• Excellent communication skills - a confident communicator, negotiator and great relationship builder
• CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply) and other relevant qualifications
• Ability to operate on both a tactical and strategic level
• Demonstrable successful career in procurement that shows development and progression into a current senior level role
• Expertise in implementing new procedures, processes and systems including MRP / ERP
• Strong technical background with a good understanding of most engineering and manufacturing methods and processes
• Commercial acumen, driven and a can-do attitude
• Experience of management and leadership to a team
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
• Excellent personal time-management, organisation and planning skills
• Proactive and flexible attitude to meet the needs of a fast paced and dynamic environment
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.

Working in a highly innovative company, this opportunity will give you the chance to create innovation worthy of a patent and allow you to use a well honed skillset. You will be responsible for researching product categories, creating intelligent solutions to everyday problems and delivering designs from concept through to implementation and commercialisation, playing a key role in a vibrant and dynamic company.

As the Product Designer you will be:

• Producing and creating product designs from concept through to implementation of finished items, working to a brief or own initiative
• Responsible for all aspects of the design including engineering, prototyping, evaluation and initial testing regimes
• Monitoring project milestones to meet scheduled launch dates using Smartsheet software in conjunction with Product management
• Inputting into the packaging and merchandising of the products and creating installation instructions
• Liaising with suppliers, internal and external customers and overseas personnel in the Far East during the design phase of the project
• Carrying out any market research and competitor product evaluation required to define the characteristics and requirements of the product
• Supporting sales and customer service personnel with product training
• Analysing and diagnosing product failures in the field
• Visiting national and international trade fairs and exhibitions to ensure current market trends and styles are understood and developing trends are captured
• Controlling drawings and product specifications for ISO9001 purposes
• Creating material specifications
• Inputting into existing technical support documentation, including product specifications and product data sheets

To succeed as the Product Designer you will have:

• Excellent written English language skills
• Experienced in Microsoft Office
• Competent and experienced in Solidworks 3D design software and able to produce 3D models, photo-realistic renders and create detailed engineering drawings
• Experienced in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Can generate and communicate multiple ideas quickly to meet challenging briefs
• Have good concept visualisation and presentation skills
• Logical approach to problem solving and manufacturing limitations of design briefs
• Eye for detail

As the Supply Chain Manager your duties will include but not be limited to:

• Champion problem solving and root cause analysis techniques with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances
• Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardisation and continuous improvement
• Monitor, communicate and improve supplier quality KPI's
• Establish long and short term supplier quality goals
• Develop long term supplier relationships, generate and implement cost reduction ideas
• Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects to increase supplier capability
• Aide manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials
• Resolve supplier technical issues to ensure continuity of supply
• Actively manage suppliers and drive supplier selection
• Support internal Audits and support second and third party audits

To succeed as the Supply Chain Manager you will have:

• Engineering degree or at least 5 years working in a similar role within a Manufacturing Environment
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certified is desirable
• Ideally Certified Lead Auditor
• Sound knowledge of 8D/5Y/Lean/FMEA/FAIR/MSA would be advantageous
• Experience of automotive, defence or pharmaceutical sectors
