Product Designer

Are you a creative Product Designer looking to use your talent to design innovative products? 25 days holiday+ BH, free parking, 8.30am - 5.30pm with a 4pm finish on Fridays.

We have a great opportunity for a bright, creative Product Designer to join a market leading manufacturing company in Andover. Working in a highly innovative company, this opportunity will give you the chance to create innovation worthy of a patent and allow you to use a well honed skillset. You will be responsible for researching product categories, creating intelligent solutions to everyday problems and delivering designs from concept through to implementation and commercialisation, playing a key role in a vibrant and dynamic company.

As the Product Designer you will be:

• Producing and creating product designs from concept through to implementation of finished items, working to a brief or own initiative
• Responsible for all aspects of the design including engineering, prototyping, evaluation and initial testing regimes
• Monitoring project milestones to meet scheduled launch dates using Smartsheet software in conjunction with Product Management
• Inputting into the packaging and merchandising of the products and creating installation instructions
• Liaising with suppliers, internal and external customers and overseas personnel in the Far East during the design phase of the project
• Carrying out any market research and competitor product evaluation required to define the characteristics and requirements of the product
• Supporting sales and customer service personnel with product training
• Analysing and diagnosing product failures in the field
• Visiting national and international trade fairs and exhibitions to ensure current market trends and styles are understood and developing trends are captured
• Controlling drawings and product specifications for ISO9001 purposes
• Creating material specifications
• Inputting into existing technical support documentation, including product specifications and product data sheets

To succeed as the Product Designer you will have:

• Strong experience of Solidworks 3D design software and able to produce 3D models, photo-realistic renders and detailed engineering drawings
• Strong experience of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Ability to generate and communicate multiple ideas quickly to meet challenging briefs
• Good concept visualisation and presentation skills
• A logical approach to problem solving and manufacturing limitations of design briefs
• An eye for detail
• Excellent written English language skills

Associated Benefits:

Salary on application -International manufacturing company in Andover requires a Supply Chain Planner, 25 days annual leave per year, free parking, staff discount on products.

As the Supply Chain Planner you will:

• Support the implementation of processes and procedures to optimise stock holding, whilst maintaining a cost down approach to improving supplier performance

• Support the Supply Chain Manager in implementing and maintaining procedures and processes and system based solutions necessary to drive continual improvement within the network focusing on key KPI objectives in the critical areas of stock management, demand planning, vendor management, service to customers and people performance

To succeed as the Supply Chain Planner, you will need:

• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems with a background in stock and supply chain management is highly desirable
• Demonstrable ability to focus on maintaining and managing key supply chain management processes and procedures whilst working in a pressurised supply chain environment
• Cost and commercially focused with the ability to react to changes in demand
• Highly proficient IT skills, including Advanced Excel
• Strong communication skills, capable of liaising at all levels within the organisation as well as with external stakeholders, with a demonstrable ability to offer solutions
• Disciplined nature with a positive “can do” attitude
• Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and support the achievement of departmental and company KPIs
• Team player capable of contributing to and implementing new ways of working with a flexible approach to managing change
• Sound record of academic achievement preferably educated to degree level in a related field

As the Sales Support and Project Manager you will be:

• The first point of contact for all queries to customers
• Liaising with the suppliers, Sales Operations Manager, customers and internal departments in regards to delivery and production
• Producing and managing quotes for customers, processing orders and updating customers with estimated delivery dates
• Maintaining spreadsheets, Customer and Price files
• Following up quotes that have previously been given and updating suppliers, Sales Operations Manager, customers and internal departments of these quotes
• Building business winning relationships and maintaining client relationships
• Ensuring all Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered too

To succeed as the Sales Support and Project Manager you will need:

• The ability to organise and prioritise your own workload and be self-motivated
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft packages, especially Excel
• Exceptional customer service skills and confidence to liaise with clients via phone and email
• Demonstrable team work skills as well as the ability to work on your own initiative
