HV Senior Electrical Engineer

As the HV Senior Electrical Engineer you will:

• Support the behaviour of working as One Team, sharing best practice and collaborating with colleagues outside of own sphere of business

• Ensure full participation in the performance development review (PDR) process and maintain an up to date record of all training and development activities/programs
• Foster networks across the business, to create positive synergies that break down functional silos
• Manage LV and HV systems including management of contracts
• Liaise with and maintain relationships with current SME’s, OEM’s, and suppliers while challenging and driving improvement on costs
• Manage all UPS systems for the site, including local machine supplies
• Work with the Electrical team by providing electrical technical Support for Electrical controls including frequency converters
• Identify obsolescence and update and manage risk registers for reviewing by site management team
• Design, install and maintain equipment that meets site electrical policy
• Work with and report to Site leadership team when requested and deliver on projects which are critical to progression
• Adopt and embrace Organisational values
• Ensure all reports are appropriately managed and have up to date/accurate job description; PDRs, SMART objectives linked to business objectives; regular reviews of performance and development needs to enhance performance and capability; motivated and engaged and behave in accordance with the company’s values

As the HV Senior Electrical Engineer you will have:

• Experience as, or ability to attain, Approved Person and then Senior Approved Person status (HV)
• The ability to understand and interpret engineering plant condition through diagnostic tools
• The ability to understand paper manufacturing process plant operations
• Understanding and the ability to promote a condition based maintenance philosophy
• A formal engineering background
• The ability to work within a team environment
• The ability to promote and educate others in the department about drives, control LV and HV Systems
• The ability to apply numerical and analytical skills to diagnostic information
• Computer literacy (CMMS and MS products)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop understanding in Continuous Improvement of drives and systems
• The understanding and ability to implement World Class Maintenance techniques
• A broad understanding of complex engineering and processes
• Educated to HND or equivalent level of experience, acquired through Process Industry within an engineering discipline
• Self-motivation, self-discipline
• Detailed knowledge and appreciation of Health and Safety within an engineering and manufacturing environment
• Knowledge and appreciation of Environmental Management and its importance within a manufacturing environment
• Understanding and ability to promote a Customer/Supplier working philosophy

As the Process Engineer you will:
• Propose, plan and execute safely Process/Product Improvement projects in agreed areas such as safety, quality, energy efficiency & fresh water reduction within agreed budget and time-scales following a formal structured approach which may include elements of design
• Lead process/product improvement teams (or support as required) and actively promote team working and effective communications within projects
• Provide Process Improvement support to all Mill operations to enable manufacturing to achieve the best quality product at the lowest cost. A driver in this area is online inspection systems and real time yield calculation on the paper machine to enable improved WIP control and reduced working capital tied up
• Identify process capabilities and offer innovative solutions for complex security products, to improve banknote paper quality performance
• Actively encourage and coach employees in lean manufacturing techniques, quality and how data drives decisions
• Work closely with other process improvement engineers and Technical advisers in providing specialist support and training for relevant personnel as required in areas such as wet end chemistry, new equipment installations
• Participate with FLMs & Asset Care to embed the processes into daily paper machine cell activities, reducing breakdown time/cost and increasing paper machine availability
• Work with Op Ex and supporting APQP paper product teams
• Be actively involved in FMEA, CCAR, and Control Plans as required
• Support commercial trials
• Follow mill policies and procedures (HS&E, HR, Operating methods) challenging unprofessional conduct and responsible for ensuring that environmental, health and safety issues are fully considered in the proposing, planning and implementation of any Process Improvements project

As the Process Engineer you will have:

• Education to HNC/HND within engineering, scientific or paper industry
• Solid manufacturing/production background, ideally within a process improvement or manufacturing engineering position
• Demonstrable track record in implementing positive change through Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement techniques
• Proven ability to implement conceptual process improvements to provide installed manufacturing solutions
• Understanding and ability to promote a “customer/supplier” & working philosophy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop understanding and can-do , buy in to project solutions (including presentations and report writing skills, Windows programmes, Pi/QIS , Minitab)

Technical Officer

• Create new engineering drawings and update the existing drawings, keeping control of all asset drawings on site
• Liaise with the Projects Department for any new project or modification of any existing asset
• Set expectations for the projects regarding technical documentation, plant asset structure, bill of materials, PPMs and AM tasks, training and all relevant technical aspect of the project
• Develop the CMMS system to maximise information access and accuracy, including the Plant Asset Structure bill of materials, SOPs, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Manuals
• Be responsible for the management of change in the Engineering Department and keeping records of all changes

As the Technical Officer you will have:

• Technical qualifications and relevant experience in manufacturing (essential)
• AutoCad training and demonstrable experience (essential)
• Computer literacy, especially a good working knowledge of Excel

Instrumentation Technician

• Carry out planned preventative, remedial and breakdown maintenance in accordance with the Site’s CMMS system

• Carryout hardware maintenance and diagnostics on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
• Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner and carry out and apply effective fault finding and investigation techniques
• Work with the Reliability Department to carry out and participate in Root Cause Analysis to improve equipment reliability
• Modify existing equipment to improve system performance, effectiveness and functionality
• Be responsible for the supervision and training of apprentices, graduate trainees or other individuals under instruction

As the Instrumentation Technician you will have:

• A time served recognised apprenticeship acquired through the process industry within Instrumentation Engineering
• ONC or BTEC National Cert in Instrumentation or Controls Engineering
• Previous experience of fault finding and diagnostics on various controls & instrumentation relating to process plant and machinery

Engineering Planner

As the Engineering Planner you will:

• Manage workplace organisation and its continued development within the Mill, which is a fundamental part of achieving world class maintenance
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers to maximize information exchange and accuracy
• Work with the Front Line Engineering Managers, produce weekly maintenance plans which include routine PPM’s and corrective work – Communicate plans through a weekly planning meeting
• Take a lead role in the planning of work for Annual shutdowns, liaising with all departments to produce one common plan
• Develop the CMMS system to maximise information access and accuracy, including the Plant Asset Structure and PPM’s
• Support the development of KPI’s for the Professional Maintenance Pillar, including MTTR and MTBF data. Also provide ad-hoc reports as and when required
• Work with production planning and Front Line Managers to maximise the downtime on machinery to perform essential maintenance

As the Engineering Planner you will have:

• An HNC and time served are a must
• The ability to understand and plan a cross section of engineering works using a CMMS, IFS, MS Project and MS Office
• Computer literacy (CMMS specific understanding) and a good working knowledge of Excel
• Detailed knowledge and appreciation of Health and Safety management and its importance within an engineering environment
