Priority Appointments is proud to be assisting this expansive and tenacious import and export Distribution Company based in Thatcham to find a motivated and enthusiastic Electronics Quality Inspector.

As an Electronics Quality Inspector., no two days will be the same as this company offers a diverse workload with plenty of scope for development and progression. This company is going through a period of growth and as such there is a sustainable workload offering job security.

As an Electronics Quality Inspector:

• Logging all information on bespoke computer system
• Correctly identifying faults with products and communicating with suppliers via email to resolve the issues
• Using Electronic test equipment to investigate any defects
• Other duties as trained and explained

Preferred Skills:

• Excellent attention to detail
• Previous Quality inspection skills
• Good computer skills including use of email
• Flexible attitude to work, happy to work overtime when required

In return for loyalty and service the Electronics Quality Inspector will be offered:

• £10 - £11 per hour (Saturdays paid at time and a half)
• Guaranteed hours (Mon-Thurs 8.30am to 5.00pm and Fri 8.30am to 4.30pm)
• 25 days holiday (once perm)
• Company pension scheme (once perm)
• On-site parking

Due to the remote location of this role it is essential to be a driver with full access to a reliable vehicle.

Purchasing Manager

BASED IN BIRMINGHAM. Fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded Purchasing Manager. Hybrid Working. Up to 45k, 25 days holiday etc.

With responsibility for a small team comprising of a Purchasing Assistant and an Order Book Administrator, as the Purchasing Manager, you will be developing and implementing purchasing strategies to ensure efficient and effective procurement and the maintenance of adequate component stock levels.

As the Purchasing Manager you will enjoy:

As the Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for:

1. Monitoring and maintaining component stock levels by placing timely orders for replenishment to ensure smooth production
2. Efficiently maintaining overall control of product stock levels for the aftermarket division, monitoring the issuing of stock for production in line with customer delivery programmes and forecasted planned requirements.
3. Working closely and communicating clearly with appropriate department managers in purchasing for planned production timescales
5. Daily co-ordination with inventory team, management and warehouse
6. Arranging transport of goods and tracking orders to ensure timely delivery
7. Running purchasing reports and providing relevant information to management when required
8. Evaluating requests for quotes and deciding appropriate supplier selection
9. Building and developing relationships with key suppliers and working on ways to improve lead times and reduce quality non-conformances
10. Monitoring, measuring and evaluating supplier performance, conducting audits and supplier reviews, resolving issues as they arise
11. Working with the Head of Quality to instigate corrective actions with suppliers and reviewing to ensure issues are resolved
12. Liaising with operations teams to identify, separate and control non-conforming materials, including supporting documentation for returns procedures
13. Managing/monitoring supplier vulnerabilities, reporting any risks in supply to management and establishing mitigation where appropriate
14. Identifying, researching and introducing new suppliers as required across the aftermarket product range
15. Selecting suppliers on a strategic basis in order to leverage supply options for the business
16. Gaining a good understanding of the manufacturing processes of key suppliers to actively encourage process improvements
18. Actively seek to improve processes, working with relevant stakeholders

You will need the below to succeed as the Purchasing Manager :

• Previous experience in a senior buyer/purchasing manager role
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to build and manage effective and strong commercial relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders
• CIPS qualification or working towards
• Sound knowledge and understanding of procurement practices within a high volume, high variance manufacturing environment
• Awareness of procurement best practice and continuous improvement principles
• Experience of working with far Eastern suppliers
• Experience in ERP systems such as NetSuite is essential
• Must be conscientious and well organised with the ability to adapt to changes
• Good interpersonal and team working skills, with a ‘can do’ attitude
• Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organisation
• Desire to understand strategic direction of the business
• Able to work autonomously and exercise discretion
• Organised, reliable and thorough

The role of a Production Controller will be to ensure that the workshop meets its quality assurance and scheduling goals by planning, scheduling, executing, and directing production activities.

• Planning and evaluating the production workload and schedules to achieve company goals
• Coordinating factory processes so that component parts are available at all workstations and frames/doors manufactured in synchronised operation
• Monitoring production throughout the day adjusting labour requirements in line with LEAN principals, assigning colleagues to pinch points as required
• Monitoring production boards to ensure they are in use and the team are aware of their daily targets
• Equipment/material issues must be flagged to the Maintenance Coordinator without delay to maintain seamless output
• Engagement with goods out and logistics planner to anticipate completion timescales and vehicle planning


To succeed as the Production Controller you will need:

• Ideally previous supervisory experience
• Excellent coaching and communication skills
• Ability to track expenses and compile budget reports
• Broad knowledge of production planning processes
• Strategic planning skills
• Comfortable working in a full-scale manufacturing environment
• Understanding of machine controls and instrumentation
• Able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting
