Our client, based on the outskirts of Basingstoke is recruiting for an experienced Technical Trainer to join them on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Training Manager, you will be devising and delivering cost effective technical training to enable employees to make a full contribution to the achievement of the company’s objectives.

As the Technical Trainer you will be:

• Building and facilitating training modules, working with internal and externals trainers across the site.
• Managing and administering competence assessments in partnership with area owners and subject matter experts.
• Ensuring all operators are adequately trained to perform their duties in a safe manner and that refresher training is conducted within required timescales as per the competence assessments.
• Facilitating practical assessments for operators to determine suitability for recruitment purposes.
• Supporting the introductions of new processes by ensuring changes are trained thoroughly
• Providing first class technical and orientation training for new starters
• Working with subject matter experts to generate and maintain technical workbooks for all operational roles within the site for theory and practical purposes.
• Ensuring training is provided to give the site the flexibility to deliver its targets and allowing resources to be deployed across processes where the business needs them.
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of training activities against objectives and, where applicable, the Genesis Programme so that continuous improvement of training occurs in instructors, course content, delivery method and duration of course. This will include course evaluation by participant, pre and post-test, observation or participant behaviours post training and ROI as appropriate.
• Supporting project engineers in delivering essential training for operators where new equipment and processes are installed and ensuring all training material is compliant.
• Supporting all continuous improvement programmes to ensure adequate training and support is being provided throughout the company.
• Ensuring that operational technical training is provided to give the company the flexibility to deliver its targets, allowing resources to be deployed across processes where the business needs them.

As the Technical Trainer you will need:

• Experience of working as a professional trainer to individuals and groups within a blue chip, manufacturing company
• The ability to understand complex and technical processes
• To be self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise to strict timescales
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan proactively to ensure that projects are delivered on time and in full
• Can actively participate in problem solving within a team and has the ability to suggest solutions to issues outside of the department.
• Ability to drive changes to improve the organisation and coach others to adapt
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
• Well-developed influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to adapt style to meet different situations
• Experienced in using generic or ad-hoc methods, in an orderly manner, for finding solutions to problems
• Ability to lead from the front, delegate where necessary and show a positive attitude.
• Have passion, drive and enthusiasm and able to convey this in an engaging way to others with the ability to inspire
• Have an ability to see the bigger picture and understand how organisational objectives affect the site.

Associated Benefits:

• 30 -35k pa
• 37.5 hour week, Monday to Thursday 8.30pm- 5.00pm and Friday 8.30pm- 4.00pm

As a valued member of the Environmental, Health & Safety department, you will be providing a high level of assistance on a large site so there's always a lot of rewarding work to be involved in. The EHS Assistant position will include promoting environmental health & safety policies, procedures and operational practices and using these to provide advice. Supporting projects will also be key, including the roll-out of behavioural based safety.

As the EHS Assistant you will:

• Provide advice on environmental health and safety matters and refer requests for assistance to senior personnel within the department
• Incident investigation, analysis and maintaining all relevant records
• Employee/contractor inductions
• Create and update site policies and procedures when required
• Carry out EHS Inspections and Audits as part of an audit team and complete detailed reports as required
• Provide Health, Safety and Environmental training
• Assist in the compilation of Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and EHS policy writing
• Provide support to the EHS Team in the continual development of ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 Integrated Management System (IMS)

To be successful as the EHS Assistant, you will have:

• NEBOSH or IEMA Certificate as a minimum
• Experience in Environmental Health and Safety Management Systems within a manufacturing/hazardous environment
• Good communication and influencing skills
• Highly competent in Outlook, Excel and Word
