Our global manufacturing client requires a Repair Shop Engineer to work out of their repair centre near Tadley. As the successful candidate, you will set methods and criteria for execution of customer repair work for various types of rotating equipment (Steam Turbines, Centrifugal Compressors, Axial Compressors and other associated equipment).
Repair work will include overhauls; general maintenance upgrades and rerates for OEM and non OEM equipment, finding repair solutions and ensuring the technical integrity of all work performed in the Repair Shop.

As the Repair Shop Engineer you will:

• Support Sales Engineers during quotation phase for aftermarket services
• Cover the full lifecycle of customer repairs
• Be the technical point of contact for customers throughout project lifecycle
• Initially review requested work from customers through completion of repair work
• Review and sign-off customer witness points within the project
• Generate and issue job instructions and provide technical assistance to customers and the Workshop Technicians
• Ensure quality requirements are met while respecting cost targets (maintaining project margins)
• Assist during the repair execution and sign off work being carried out by Technicians
• Support purchasing department to select new vendors and specify detail in more complex purchase requisitions
• Take control of technical documentation
• Write and issue inspection and final job reports

To succeed as the Repair Shop Engineer you will need:

• A recognised degree or HND in engineering (ideally with relevant experience in rotating equipment)
• Proven experience in rotating equipment repair or manufacturing is preferable - ideally 3-5 year industry experience
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• A good understanding of engineering practices
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal in English
• Confident to lead technicians and liaise with external customers
• Working knowledge of PC and business management systems
• Ability to read and understand drawings, service bulletins, service reports and technical reports

• Working with Fanuc controls
• Working with 2 or 3 axis turning
• Independently operating machine shop equipment including lathes, vertical bores, grinders both manual and CNC
• Setting and operating machines with the correct tooling

To succeed as the CNC Turner/Programmer you will need:

• Either a recognised degree or HND in engineering or proven experience in a manufacturing environment- ideally 3-5 year industry experience
• This company will consider someone starting out in their engineering career who has a NVQ in Engineering
• Experience using Fanuc
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• A good understanding of engineering practices
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal in English
• Ability to read and understand drawings, service bulletins, service reports and technical reports

Associated Benefits:

• 25 - 33k pa depending on experience
• Yearly salary reviews
• Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 4.30pm, Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm finish on Fridays
• 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
• Overtime is x1.5 after 4.30pm on weekdays and Saturdays, and x2 on Sundays. Bank holidays are also x2 + a day back in lieu
