Turbine Repair Engineer

Our global manufacturing client requires a Repair Shop Engineer to work out of their repair centre near Tadley. As the successful candidate, you will set methods and criteria for execution of customer repair work for various types of rotating equipment (Steam Turbines, Centrifugal Compressors, Axial Compressors and other associated equipment).
Repair work will include overhauls; general maintenance upgrades and rerates for OEM and non OEM equipment, finding repair solutions and ensuring the technical integrity of all work performed in the Repair Shop.

As the Turnine Repair Engineer you will be:

• Supporting Sales Engineers during quotation phase for aftermarket services
• Covering the full lifecycle of customer repairs
• The technical point of contact for customers throughout project lifecycle
• Initially review requested work from customers through completion of repair work
• Reviewing and signing-off customer witness points within the project
• Generating and issue job instructions and provide technical assistance to customers and the Workshop Technicians
• Ensuring quality requirements are met while respecting cost targets (maintaining project margins)
• Assisting during the repair execution and sign off work being carried out by Technicians
• Supporting purchasing department to select new vendors and specify detail in more complex purchase requisitions
• Taking control of technical documentation
• Writing and issuing inspection and final job reports

To succeed as the Turbine Repair Engineer you will need:

• A recognised degree or HND in engineering (ideally with relevant experience in rotating equipment)
• Proven experience in rotating equipment repair or manufacturing is preferable - ideally 3-5 year industry experience
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• A good understanding of engineering practices
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal in English
• Confident to lead technicians and liaise with external customers
• Working knowledge of PC and business management systems
• Ability to read and understand drawings, service bulletins, service reports and technical reports
